Port Fourchon remains in Recovery Phase in the aftermath of Hurricane Zeta, but facilities are getting things up and running. Full crews are in Port at their facilities, and Port personnel and Utility crews are hard at work getting us back to business. Enough progress has been made to allow us to get back to full 24 hour access at Port Facilities.
Items of note:
- PORT FACILITIES ARE FULLY OPEN FOR BUSINESS TODAY under generator power.
- DELIVERIES ARE ALLOWED BEGINNING AT NOON TODAY. That includes everything from groceries and supplies to generators to heavy equipment. Some Hazardous conditions near and on the roadways withing Port do still exist so TAKE CAUTION.
- DAYLIGHT TRAVEL ONLY for MARINE TRAFFIC. US Coast Guard has loosened restrictions on vessel traffic to include both outbound and inbound movement.
- TAKE CAUTION WHEN DRIVING PORT ROADWAYS. Please drive cautiously and be alert for whatever storm damage you may encounter. Roadways, parking areas, and facility yards were strewn with storm debris. Power is still out.
- BOIL WATER ADVISORY IN EFFECT. The Lafourche Parish Water District’s boil water advisory for the area below the Leon Theriot Lock in Golden Meadow remains in effect. They have tested the water this morning and will have the results back tomorrow morning to hopefully lift the advisory.
Port Fourchon Harbor Police remain on duty to monitor traffic and road conditions for public safety, and Harbor Police has a checkpoint staged on Hwy. 3090 to ensure port security.
US Coast Guard has revised the conditional access in Port Fourchon to allow both inbound and outbound vessel traffic, but all traffic remains restricted to daylight travel only.
EMERGENCY STORM HARBOR MARINA:
With the end of this storm, the Emergency Storm Harbor Marina has been deactivated and is being closed. All vessels in the marina must be cleared per ordinance guidelines by SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 1ST AT 0600HRS.
