Cargo Terminals & Facilities

Does Port Fourchon Have Traditional Cargo Terminals & Facilities?

NO. The Greater Lafourche Port Commission does not own or maintain traditional terminals or facilities.

We are a landlord port that ensures basic land development and infrastructure are created, maintained, and improved (highways, waterways, utilities, etc.), and then private investors lease, develop, maintain, and operate their own individual facilities on Port Fourchon sites. We have many state-of-the-art facilities in Port Fourchon, uniquely positioned to service the offshore energy industry.

For information on port tenant facilities in Port Fourchon, see our Port Directory page.

TWIC

Is this where I get my TWIC card?

NO. Although the Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) has a “Port Fourchon” location, the program is run by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), a federal agency under the US Department of Homeland Security, and the local office is not actually in Port Fourchon. If I call your office, can you tell me how much my TWIC card costs?

NO. We do not have access to your TWIC card information. The TWIC program is run by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), a federal agency under the US Department of Homeland Security, and not the Port Commission. See our TWIC INFORMATION section for further details on TWIC.
