Feb. 16 @ 9:00 a.m. – Weather Notice: Freezing Conditions, Update #3

WEATHER NOTICE – FREEZING CONDITIONS
UPDATE #3
February 16, 2021
9:00 a.m.

GLPC would like to thank all Port Fourchon businesses, South Lafourche Airport users, and local residents for their cooperation and heeding the warnings in regard to the winter weather situation yesterday and overnight. We are very thankful as well to DOTD for prepping the LA 1 elevated highway for the weather, allowing for no overnight closure to be necessary.

The curfew for Lafourche Parish has been lifted.

There are no local road or bridge closures at this time. Local and state agencies will continue to monitor bridges and highways for icy conditions, but that threat will diminish as the day goes on.

The GLPC Administration Office in Cut Off and the Fourchon Operations Center are closed today, Tuesday, February 16, in observance of the Mardi Gras holiday. Harbor Police and emergency personnel are stationed in port and patrolling as usual.

WARNINGS, WATCHES, & ADVISORIES

  • HARD FREEZE WARNING in effect until noon.
  • WIND CHILL ADVISORY in effect until noon.

We will continue to monitor this winter weather and keep you updated with any developing weather-related issues affecting port and airport.
