GLPC Monthly Meetings to be Held Via Facebook Live
Pursuant to Proclamation JBE 2020-30 of the Governor of the State of Louisiana, the Greater Lafourche Port Commission hereby certifies that, without the use of a telephone and/or video conferencing, it would otherwise be unable to operate due to the quorum requirement of La.R.S. 42:19.
(CUT OFF, LA) – The Greater Lafourche Port Commission and its Board of Commissioners plan on conducting their monthly Committee and Board meetings, scheduled for Monday, April 6, and Wednesday, April 8, via Facebook Live.
Both meetings are scheduled for 3 p.m. and will be accessible through Port Fourchon’s Facebook page.
In addition, the Meeting Calendar webpage on portfourchon.com under the News & Events tab will have a link to the Facebook Live meeting stream, the meeting agenda, and a link to email GLPC with questions or comments.
The PowerPoint slides that accompany the meetings will be visible and those tuning in will have the opportunity to make any agenda-related comments during the public comment portion of the meeting, as would be the case if the public was allowed to physically attend these meetings.
“The same as we would do in an open meeting setting, we want to do with this meeting in the sense that we want to make things happen in such a way to where comments are encouraged at the appropriate times,” GLPC Executive Director Chett Chiasson said.
Chiasson added that any and all comments will be answered in a timely fashion either before and/or after the meetings.
“Since the window to ask questions via Facebook Live will be brief in nature, we encourage those with questions that can’t be addressed at this time to still email us so we can get back to you,” he said.
