Falgout Appointed to OCS Policy Committee
(GALLIANO, LA, JANUARY 22, 2007) – Ted Falgout, Director of Port Fourchon, has been appointed to a 2 year term as an alternate member of the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Policy Committee.
The Committee gives policy advice to the Secretary of Interior on the performance of discretionary functions under the OCS Land Act. According to the OCS Policy Committee Charter, the Committee will review and comment on all aspects of leasing, exploration, development and protection of OCS resources and provide a forum to convey views representative of coastal states, local government, offshore mineral industries, environmental community, and other users of the offshore and interested public.
Falgout said, “It is an honor to serve on such a prestigious committee that is vital to the management of OCS resources, especially at a time when Louisiana stands to share significantly in revenues generated from mineral activity in the OCS.”

Falgout will be representing the State of Louisiana on the committee when the appointed member, Mr. David U. Meloy, Geologist Supervisor from the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources, cannot attend.
