GLPC STORM WATCH: TROPICAL STORM CINDY
UPDATE #3

A Tropical Storm Warning and a Flash Flood Watch are in effect for much of the Southeastern Louisiana coast as the tropical system has developed enough to be given the name of Tropical Storm Cindy. The Port Commission remains in Storm Watch phase and is keeping an eye on TS Cindy’s development.
Anticipated impacts in the Port Fourchon area are heavy rainfall and slightly elevated tide levels. The current tide level is 1.5 feet at Nerby Collins Marina, which is a little above normal, and water is not a threat at this time. The National Weather Service is forecasting 4-8 inches of rain, and tides could rise 1-3 feet above normal. Winds are not projected to get above 45 miles per hour.
The Lady of the Sea Medical Clinic – Fourchon will be closed for business Wednesday and possibly Thursday due to this week’s weather forecast.
Businesses and coastal residents should be alert for new updates and warnings and need to be prepared to take quick action if necessary. Please review your facility’s hurricane plan, be thoughtful of stockpiling any loose material or excess items that could fly away or be damaged if Port Fourchon is affected by a storm, and make sure the Port Commission has your facility’s updated contact information so that you can receive timely storm-related information.
